How do I register?

What does my child wear to camp?

Please dress your child in appropriate clothes that can get dirty. We do our best to protect clothing during art, science and play but we encourage campers to dress for camp. However, accidents do happen. Closed-toed sneakers are required. If your child is participating in an outdoor sports camp, dress for appropriate outdoor weather including sneakers, hats and sun protection. Sunscreen should be applied before camp and sent with your camper if they require another application. Please label all your campers items before they come to camp. Our lost in found is located in our camp office off the main carpool lane/library porch in the Forum.

What does my child need to bring to camp?

Most campers will want to bring a daily snack and drink to camp. Sports camps ask that you send a snack and a refillable water bottle and may also require equipment specific to the sport. For contact sports we encourage campers to bring and wear a mouth-guard. Please label all items. We do have a lost and found located in the camp office off the main carpool lane/library porch in the Forum. Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

Enter the main entrance of Charlotte Latin School 9502 Providence Road, Charlotte NC 28277. Follow Fox Drive past three speed bumps, and turn right. Follow the carpool lane around (towards Admissions) until you are in front of the Library. We offer a continuous carpool lane where carpool cards are utilized for efficiency. We ask that you place these cards in the front dashboard window or hang them from the rear-view mirror. We will use these cards as identification during pick up. We will utilize six carpool stations for loading to ensure safety during this transition. Please continue to the next numbered station before stopping. Please remain in your vehicle and we will escort your child to their camp at drop off and  bring your child to you at pick up. If you wish to walk your child up to check-in, please park in the Library parking lot. You will be emailed a newsletter and carpool card one week prior to the start of your scheduled camp.

My child is registered for Before/After Care. Where do we go?

If you have registered for Before/After Care please drop off your child at the Carol Hall/Lower School Gym between the hours of 7:30 and 8:45 a.m. using the Raintree entrance (see map). At 8:45 a.m., all students will be en route to their morning camps. Please use the main carpool lane if you arrive after 8:45 a.m. Our Before Care Instructor will check your camper into their morning camp once they transition to the main camper check-in off the front Media Center Porch.

If you are picking up your child between 4:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., please do so in the Carol Hall/Lower School Gym (see website map) using the Raintree entrance. You will need to park and walk your child to and from your vehicle for security reasons. Please know that our late pick up policy will be applied for late pick ups after the closing of Charlotte Latin Summer Day Camps at 5:30pm.

Late Pick Up Policy: As a courtesy, please call the After Care instructor directly (contact number will be in your welcome to before/after care newsletter). This allows us to maintain open communication regarding the care of your camper. Please know, a $25.00 charge for every 15 minutes will be added to your account per day for late pick ups beyond 5:30pm.

What if my child has allergies?

Please notify our office if your child has any anaphylactic allergies. You will need to provide us with an epi-pen/medication and action plan on first day of camp. Please put the Epi-pen with a copy of your campers camp schedule, contact information and listed allergies in a clear ziplock bag.  Children with anaphylactic allergies will have their epi-pen stored in the camp office. If you request for the epi-pen to follow them throughout the camp day it will be in a counselor emergency bag/fannypack. All medications will be returned to the camp office for overnight storage. All CLS instructors, administrators and counselors are epi-pen trained in case of emergency. CLS Summer Day Camps also has an athletic trainer/nurse on staff and on campus throughout the summer. When your child's camp ends, we will send home all medications.

What if I need to pick up my child early?

Please notify the Summer Day Camps Office in advance so that we can arrange for your child to meet you in the Forum of the Media Center. You must sign your child out in the summer camps office before you leave. If you have questions, please call Charlotte Latin Summer Programs at 704-846-7277 or email Please understand that we cannot allow early pickups between 11:30-1:30 & 3:30-4:00 as these are high volume transition times in and outside of the camp spaces with our staff and campers.

What is the refund policy?

All programs require a minimum number of students in order to run. If a camp is cancelled by Charlotte Latin Summer Programs due to low enrollment, parents will be notified at least two weeks before the first day of camp (unless there are extenuating circumstances) and refunded in full.

If you must cancel your child's camp registration, a $50.00 administrative fee will be charged for all refunds between April 15-June 1, with the exception of programs cancelled by Charlotte Latin Summer Day Camps. After June 1, only half of the original registration tuition will be refunded. After the first day of camp, refunds will be made on a case-by-case basis only.

What is your cell phone or personal electronics policy?

We love technology at camp! However, there is a time and place for it. Here at camp we want to encourage a creative space and face-to-face communication. We ask our campers to talk at length about their day, activities, favorite sports, shows, pets, vacations, dreams and even math! We encourage friendship and conversation. Parents, please join us in this effort. During the camp day (including lunch/ extended camp care times) we will ask that all devices be put away.  If your camper has a phone or personal electronic device they are bringing to camp (with your permission and understanding that CLS Summer Day Camps is not responsible for this device) that it be kept in a safe and non-disruptive place. Please encourage your camper to communicate with their instructor or camp counselor if they need assistance for any reason. We are here to help and make camp the best place to be all summer.
