Work at Camp

Instructors & Activity Leaders

The heart and soul of our vibrant community lies in the dedicated team of instructors and activity leaders who make every moment memorable. Our carefully selected staff is a diverse group of passionate individuals, each bringing a unique set of skills, talents, and enthusiasm to create an enriching experience for every camper. Many of our instructors are Charlotte Latin faculty and staff who teach camps based on professional experience and personal hobbies. Activity leaders work within Camp Victor to enhance the day camp experience. From crafts to sports to team challenges, our activity leaders will help campers throughout each rotation. We also have alumni, community instructors, and vendors who join our staff each summer. With a focus on safety, education, and fun, our instructors and activity leaders are the backbone of our camps, ensuring that each child feels supported, engaged, and inspired to discover their full potential. Get ready for an unforgettable summer adventure led by a team that is not only knowledgeable and experienced but also genuinely cares about the well-being and growth of every camper.

Teen Counselors

Our dynamic team of teen counselors infuse boundless energy and vibrant spirit into every moment of camp. Comprising passionate college and high school students, many of whom were once campers themselves, our counselors create the camp experience. Beyond their infectious enthusiasm, these dedicated individuals seamlessly navigate various responsibilities, from assisting with camp instruction to managing carpool and bus duties. Engaged in every facet of the day, our counselors bring joy and laughter to campers through an array of activities, including special events, science experiments, sports, arts, and even mastering intricate LEGO creations. Whether they're directing traffic, maintaining a clean campus, or showcasing their competitive water sliding skills, our talented counselors go above and beyond to ensure that every camper's summer is not just memorable but extraordinary.

All teen counselors complete a thorough background check. In addition, Latin Camps requires all teen counselors to complete a week of training prior to beginning their employment.

Counselors in Training (CITs)

Committed to personal growth and leadership development, these budding leaders undergo specialized training to hone their skills in camp management, mentorship, and program facilitation. As they actively engage with campers and seasoned counselors alike, CITs gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of camp life, from organizing activities to fostering a positive and inclusive community. Under the guidance of our Assistant Director, these individuals are not just participants; they are vital contributors to the vibrant tapestry of our camp culture. Our CITs play a pivotal role in shaping memorable experiences for all, setting the stage for future leaders to emerge. Please note, applicants must be rising 9th graders at Charlotte Latin School.
